IFF has the task of promoting the use of photography for research, documentation, illustration, and communication.

Our goal is to gather those who professionally work with photography within various institutions, and ensure good professional and social environments in and around the profession.

IFF was founded in 1972. Today, the organization has over 130 members and is a nationwide organization. Most of the members are employed at museums, hospitals, research institutions, archives, police, universities, industry, defense, and technical agencies.
